Agartala: Mar 13: The state conference of the Democratic Rights Protection Organization (DRPO) is scheduled to take place on March 16 at the Sukanta Academy in the capital. This announcement was made by the organization’s officials during a press conference held on Thursday at their office, located in the Durga Chowmuhani shopping center.
The DRPO, which began its journey in 2020, has made significant strides in advocating for democratic rights and civil liberties. The organization’s first state conference was held in 2022, marking a major milestone in its mission. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned second state conference for 2024 could not take place. As a result, the DRPO has now confirmed the new date for the conference, signaling the continuation of its commitment to promoting democratic values and the protection of individual freedoms.
During the press conference, the officials also shared insights into the various activities carried out by the organization in the past few years. Despite the challenges faced, the DRPO has remained active, engaging in public advocacy, awareness campaigns, and legal interventions aimed at protecting the rights of citizens. The organization has also been involved in grassroots movements, working to ensure that democratic processes are upheld and that the voices of marginalized communities are heard.
The upcoming state conference on March 16 is expected to be a significant event, where key issues related to democratic rights will be discussed, and future strategies for safeguarding these rights will be formulated. The DRPO’s continuous efforts demonstrate its resilience in the face of adversity and its unwavering dedication to defending the core values of democracy.
