Agartala: Mar 11: Kailashahar police arrested two individuals early Tuesday morning in connection with the possession of brown sugar. Along with the seized contraband, a motorcycle was also confiscated. The arrested individuals were presented before the Kailashahar court on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Kailashahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukanta Sen Chowdhury, the arrests followed a tip-off from a confidential source. Law enforcement personnel stationed at a naka point in the Chinibagan area intercepted the suspects around 2 a.m. During the subsequent search, brown sugar was discovered concealed in five soap boxes.
The OC further stated that the estimated market value of the seized brown sugar is four lakh taka. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals.
