Agaartala: Mar 10: Youth seeking jobs in the Jail Police have expressed frustration over the delayed recruitment process, which has been stalled since the notification was published in 2022. Despite undergoing the usual physical test, the applicants have not received any updates, and their names have not been published. On Monday, a group of these unemployed youth gathered at the office of the Inspector General of Prisons to voice their anger and dissatisfaction with the situation.
They raised concerns that, after completing the physical test, they have been left in limbo with no progress in the recruitment process. The candidates, who have been waiting for nearly four years, expressed their disappointment over the slow pace of the procedure, especially given that a double engine government is in power. They argued that such delays were unfair, as the government had promised quicker action in recruitment matters.
The frustrated candidates have now appealed once again to the departmental minister and the state government, urging them to expedite the recruitment process. In their protest, they warned that if the process is not completed immediately, they would be left with no other option but to resort to extreme measures. They expressed that being ignored by the government after such a long wait is deeply disheartening and unjust, especially when unemployment remains a significant issue.
The applicants’ demand is clear: they want the recruitment process to be completed without further delay. They have also expressed a sense of betrayal, as the slow progress of the recruitment has caused immense frustration and anxiety among those who have been waiting for years for a stable job in the Jail Police force.
