Agartala: Mar 10: Minister Ratanlal Nath recently inaugurated the ‘Madhubaner Madhu’ brand at the Haflongchhara Agriculture Office premises under the Dharmanagar Subdivision. This initiative marks a significant step in promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship in North Tripura, with 32 enterprising youth and housewives joining hands to develop the brand. The launch event was graced by several dignitaries, including Yuvrajnagar Block BDO Debapriya Das, former MLA Molina Debnath, and various officials from the Agriculture Department. Everyone applauded the collective effort and expressed optimism for the future of these entrepreneurs.
Minister Nath, in his speech, emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering individuals on the path to self-reliance. He thanked the 32 participants for creating ‘Madhubaner Madhu’ with support from the Agriculture Department. He also addressed the declining paddy cultivation in North Tripura, highlighting the growing food demand that is not being fully met due to insufficient agricultural output. He pointed out that, despite the challenges, over 50,000 farmers have been honored in the region under the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Policy.
Minister Nath assured farmers that modern agricultural equipment, including power tillers, would be provided to those who have yet to receive them, stressing that agricultural land should not remain idle. He further announced plans to establish a permanent sales center in Dharmanagar city for the entrepreneurs to market their honey, providing them with a platform to grow their businesses.
The ‘Madhubaner Madhu’ initiative is expected to stimulate the agro-based industry in North Tripura, creating employment opportunities and strengthening the local economy. With its focus on sustainable farming and the promotion of honey production, the brand has the potential to be a significant contributor to the region’s economic growth.
