Agartala: Mar 08: On the occasion of BJP’s second anniversary in government, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman accused the ruling party of using fear and coercion to gather people for their public rally. Speaking to reporters at the Pradesh Congress office, he claimed that the BJP had realized that public interest in the event was waning.
Referring to the BJP government’s second anniversary celebrations, Roy Barman raised doubts about the legitimacy of the event, questioning why, after seven years in power, the party only highlighted the completion of two years in their banners and hoardings. He suggested that this might be an attempt at personal glorification, rather than a genuine celebration of the government’s achievements.
Roy Barman also responded to the controversial remark by the Chief Minister that opposition parties were blind to development. He argued that under the BJP government, the country is facing setbacks in several areas, and the public is losing trust in the government. He criticized the BJP’s focus on the past, particularly the Prime Minister’s obsession with India’s history, while neglecting the future of the country.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, is concerned with the future of the nation, whereas the ruling party is exploiting religious sentiments to maintain power. His comments, which touched on both national and state issues, sparked fresh political tensions in Tripura, igniting debates about the direction in which the state and the country are headed under BJP’s rule.
This criticism from the Congress leader has added to the political discourse in Tripura, with many now questioning the effectiveness and transparency of the current administration.
