Agartala, March 7: Amid persistent demands for separate tribal states by the ruling alliance partners—TIPRA Motha and IPFT—the BJP has reaffirmed its stance against any further division of Tripura. Cabinet Minister and government spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury, stated that the BJP remains firmly opposed to the creation of “Greater Tipraland” and “Tipraland,” as sought by TIPRA Motha and IPFT, respectively.
The statement comes as the BJP-led government in Tripura is set to complete two years of its second term on Saturday. Chowdhury acknowledged that alliance partners have the constitutional right to raise such demands but emphasized that the BJP prioritizes inclusive development for all communities, including the indigenous population, which has faced historical deprivation.
Highlighting the achievements of the state government, Chowdhury asserted that under Chief Minister Manik Saha and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tripura has become insurgency-free and is progressing rapidly. He reiterated that the state’s development is aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat, ensuring the welfare of all citizens.
