Agartala: Mar 04: The 16th foundation day of the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) was celebrated at the Agartala Supari Bagan Dasharath Deb Smriti Bhavan. On this significant occasion, IPFT president Prem Kumar Reang hoisted the party flag, marking the milestone. The event saw the presence of several prominent party leaders, including General Secretary and Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, along with other key figures from the party.
During the celebration, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia reflected on the party’s journey, highlighting its origins under the leadership of the late NC Debbarma. He emphasized that, much like other political parties such as the BJP, CPM, and Congress, IPFT also experiences its moments of challenges and vulnerabilities. Noatia pointed out that the IPFT was founded in 2009, initially driven by the demand for full statehood for the Autonomous Districts of Tripura. Over the last 16 years, the party has remained committed to this cause, organizing democratic programs and continuously advocating for their primary demand.
Minister Noatia acknowledged the setbacks the party has faced over the years but assured supporters that IPFT had consistently overcome these challenges, regaining its strength and position in the political landscape. He reiterated that the party’s struggle would continue in a peaceful, democratic manner, with a firm resolve to safeguard the rights of its people and maintain the party’s existence. The 16th foundation day, thus, served not only as a moment of reflection on the party’s past but also as a reminder of its determination to persist and push forward with its agenda for the future.
