Agartala, February 28: Tripura celebrated National Science Day with an aim to inspire young minds towards scientific education and innovation.
The state’s Science and Technology Department Minister, Animesh Debbarma, inaugurated the event at Sukanta Academy, where a large number of school students and engineering institutions showcased their AI-powered and drone-based scientific models.
Addressing the gathering, Debbarma urged students to actively engage with cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and the latest technology.
Debbarma, a computer science engineer, emphasized the need for collaborating with machines to enhance productivity and efficiency.
“Technology is evolving rapidly, and students must take advantage of these advancements. Scientific and technical knowledge will not only empower them economically but also contribute significantly to India’s GDP and foreign exchange earnings,” he said, highlighting how developed nations have a growing demand for skilled tech professionals.
Students from various schools and engineering institutions displayed their innovative AI-driven projects and drone technologies, reflecting their problem-solving abilities and vision for a technologically advanced India. The event served as a platform for budding scientists to explore future opportunities in STEM fields.
The programme, attended by Science & Technology Department Secretary Dr. K Sasikumar, Director Mahendra Singh, and other dignitaries, revolved around this year’s theme: “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”
Officials and educators lauded the scientific temperament displayed by the students, reaffirming the importance of science, technology, and innovation in shaping a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
