Agartala: Feb 28: In two separate joint operations, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel apprehended 15 Bangladeshi citizens and detained five Indian brokers for illegal border crossing activities.
The first operation, conducted in the Kailashahar district based on secret information, led to the apprehension of 13 Bangladeshi nationals, including three women, three men, and seven children. Additionally, three Indian brokers—Kajal Das from Assam, Ajit Das from Unakoti, and Prasanjit Debnath from Dhalai, Tripura—were detained. The Bangladeshi nationals are reportedly residents of Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Netrokona, and Barisal in Bangladesh.
In a separate operation at Agartala Railway Station, carried out in collaboration with the Government Railway Police (GRP), two more Indian brokers were detained late last night.
The BSF reiterated its commitment to maintaining zero tolerance against illegal border crossings, human trafficking, and smuggling activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Such operations are expected to continue to ensure the security and integrity of the international border.
