Agartala: Feb 27: In a recent anti-drug operation, the Lefunga Police Station and Bamutia Police Outpost successfully apprehended a notorious drug dealer, Uttam Biswas, from the South Rangutia area of Rangutia village under Bamutia Police Outpost. The operation was led by Lefunga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sahadev Das and Bamutia Outpost OC Anthony Jamatia, supported by a large police force.
During the operation, OC Anthony Jamatia, dressed in civilian attire, managed to capture Uttam Biswas after a dramatic chase through muddy terrain. Following the arrest, Lefunga Police Station OC Sahadev Das addressed the media, revealing that the police had laid a trap based on secret information. The operation resulted in the recovery of 11.21 grams of brown sugar from the arrested individual.
A case has been filed against Uttam Biswas under specific sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An investigation is underway, and he is scheduled to be presented in court today.
