Agartala: Feb 17: An altercation broke out between the owners and employees of two beauty parlors in the Aitorma Building of the capital on Monday morning, leaving two individuals seriously injured. The incident, which has stirred considerable attention in the area, began as a result of a rivalry that had developed between the two parlors.
According to reports, the conflict started when the employees of the new beauty parlor, which had opened recently with the support of a local leader, found birthday party flowers from the old parlor left on the stairs. This sparked anger from the staff of the older parlor, leading to a confrontation. The employees of the new parlor, in turn, approached the owner of the older parlor to discuss the matter, which escalated into a heated argument.
The situation quickly spiraled out of control when two young women and a man from the new beauty parlor physically attacked the owner of the old parlor, Bijoy Poddar, and his shop worker. The altercation turned violent, leaving both Poddar and his worker injured, with blood reported at the scene.
The commotion drew the attention of passersby, who rushed to the scene, prompting a response from the West Agartala Women’s Police Station. The police quickly arrived at the location to de-escalate the situation, detaining the two women and a man involved in the altercation. Meanwhile, the police managed to rescue a young man named Sagar Sarkar from the scene and brought him to the police station for further inquiries.
As of now, no formal complaints have been filed, and the police have stated that they will investigate the matter if a case is registered. The incident has raised concerns in the local community, with many residents expressing shock over the violent outburst in the area.
