Agartala: Feb 16: After the establishment of the BJP government, the work on the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple under the Prasad project was initiated afresh. The project is now nearing completion, and it is expected that either Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the newly reconstructed Mata Tripureswari Temple in March. This information was provided by Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a media interaction on Sunday. He also mentioned that the Chief Minister is currently in Delhi and has invited the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister for the inauguration.
The Prasad project has received approximately Rs 38 crore from the Central Government, with an additional Rs 7 crore provided by the state government. The minister highlighted that the government is determined to bring about a radical change in Tripura’s tourist centers with the cooperation of the Government of India and the Asian Development Bank. Several plans have been taken up, and the work is expected to be completed within the next one to one and a half years.
Among the initiatives, new infrastructure will be built at Sonamukhi under Unakoti at a cost of Rs 70 crore. Various facilities for tourists, including guest houses and log huts, are being planned. Additionally, an ultra-modern park will be constructed at a cost of Rs 70 crore. The minister also mentioned that an initiative has been taken to develop eco-tourism by utilizing the three islands of Dombar reservoir.
