Agartala: Feb 14: The state Congress in Tripura is gearing up to launch a movement to address the pressing issues faced by farmers and workers. With two-thirds of India’s population comprising agrarian and laboring communities, who form the backbone of the country’s economy, it’s imperative to tackle the challenges they’re facing. The country’s declining foreign exchange reserves have only added to the urgency.
Prabir Chakraborty, spokesperson for the Pradesh Congress, announced that the party would unite agricultural and labor communities to protest against the BJP government’s neglect of farmers, laborers, and unemployed youth. Chakraborty emphasized that the BJP rule has failed to address the needs of these sections of society, making it essential to bring an end to this regime .
To mobilize support, the All Tripura Unorganized Workers’ Congress will hold a state-level conference on February 16 in Teliamura. The conference aims to discuss the various demands and issues faced by workers and farmers in the region. Organizing the unorganized labor force and fostering solidarity among marginalized groups is crucial for effectively voicing their concerns.
This movement is expected to set the stage for a larger, more organized movement challenging the current political establishment and pushing for policies that better serve Tripura’s working and agricultural populations.
