Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha issued a strong warning against attempts to revive insurgency in the state, stating that strict action will be taken against anyone found aiding such efforts. He emphasized that the government has all the necessary information and warned those attempting to destabilize peace in the region that no one would be spared. Dr. Saha stressed the importance of maintaining the peace that has been hard-won and emphasized the state’s commitment to comprehensive development at all levels.
Speaking about Tripura’s past, Dr. Saha condemned the anarchy during the communist era, highlighting the disorder and violence that plagued the state, including pre-election and post-election turmoil. He declared that the state is now free from extremism and has emerged as one of the best-performing states in the Northeast, with a strong focus on the socio-economic upliftment of women.
The Chief Minister made these remarks after laying the foundation stones for five development projects and inaugurating one in Jirania, West Tripura. The projects, worth a total of Rs 40.58 crore, include motor stands and district transport offices aimed at improving transport infrastructure. He lauded the work of the Transport department and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy for prioritizing development in the Northeast. Dr. Saha also noted that the government’s approach had shifted from empty slogans during the communist rule to meaningful action and progress.
Dr. Saha concluded by urging everyone to work for the rights of the people and follow the path set by Prime Minister Modi, ensuring that the state continues to progress peacefully and without returning to its chaotic past.
