Agartala: Feb 10: Tripura MP Biplab Kumar Deb has urged the central government to repair the 11-kilometer stretch of NH-8 from Churaibari to Shanicherra, which is in a deplorable condition. Deb emphasized that this national highway serves as a gateway to the northeastern region and is a crucial part of the BJP government’s Act East Policy.
The MP highlighted that the highway connects Tripura to various states and is vital for the region’s economic development. However, the poor condition of the road has led to frequent accidents and transportation difficulties. Deb also mentioned that the heavy rainfall in Tripura causes waterlogging on the highway, making it difficult for locals to commute.
To address these issues, Deb has requested the central government to form a committee to find a permanent solution. He has specifically asked Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to intervene and ensure that the repairs are carried out on a priority basis. Deb’s efforts aim to improve the connectivity and infrastructure in the region, promoting economic growth and development.
