Agartala: Feb 10: A one-day training program titled “Drug Sample Collection, Investigation Techniques, and Prosecution Inauguration” was organized on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tripura, at Pragya Bhavan, Hall No. 1, in the capital city. The program aimed at enhancing the skills of health professionals in handling drug-related issues effectively.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including the Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Sanjeeb Debbarma, Deputy Drug Controller Kanchan Sinha, and other dignitaries. Dr. Debbarma addressed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of ensuring that patients receive the correct medicines in the right dosage. He highlighted that India is one of the largest producers of medicines, exporting to numerous countries worldwide. However, he pointed out that challenges often arise when medicines are not provided appropriately to patients.
Dr. Debbarma further stressed the need for careful consideration when prescribing medicines to avoid potential complications. He urged the participants to focus on accurate drug sample collection, efficient investigation techniques, and proper prosecution to address the growing concerns related to counterfeit or substandard medicines.
The training program aimed to equip professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure that drug-related issues are handled properly, thus safeguarding public health. The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to maintain the quality and safety of medicines distributed to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
