Agartala: Feb 10: Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir, a primary school in the Sundarbans, has begun a new chapter in education. Established in honor of Bela Saha, a dedicated advocate for knowledge, the school represents a significant CSR initiative by Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers.
The school’s inauguration on January 3rd coincided with Saraswati Puja, a tribute to the Goddess of Learning. The ceremony included a floral tribute, the release of pigeons, and the unfurling of the school flag. Swami Suparnananda Ji Maharaj, Secretary of the Institute of Culture at Ramakrishna Mission, Kolkata, officially inaugurated the school.
Notable attendees included Mr. M.L. Lohia, Chairman of Jupiter Wagons Ltd and President of East Bengal Club, who pledged to provide midday meals for all 350 students throughout the year. The Saha family’s commitment to society was praised by Swami Suparnananda Ji, who extended his blessings to the school and its supporters.
Rupak Saha and his sister, Sucharita Roy, expressed their emotional attachment to the school, affirming their commitment to upholding their mother’s legacy.
