Agartala: Feb 05: The Tipra Motha party celebrated its 4th foundation day with various programs, showcasing its commitment to the people of Tripura. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the party flag, followed by the distribution of fruits and educational materials in hospitals and schools. A rally was also held, where the party flag was hoisted, and a cake was cut to mark the occasion.
Notable attendees, including Runiel Debbarma, emphasized the party’s commitment to fulfilling the demands of the Tiprasa people. Debbarma conveyed a message of unity, or Thansa, highlighting the party’s focus on the well-being of the indigenous people of Tripura.
As a regional political party, Tipra Motha has been actively working towards the creation of a separate state, “Greater Tipraland,” which would encompass the tribal areas of Tripura . The party’s demands include increased powers for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, direct funding from the Centre, and recognition of the Roman script as the official script for the Kokborok language .
