Agartala, February 3: Tripura is immersed in the celebrations of Saraswati Puja, worshiping the Hindu goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and music.
The festival, widely observed in schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions, saw students dressed in traditional Bengali attire, participating enthusiastically alongside their teachers.
While the main celebrations are taking place today, some institutions began the worship on Sunday.
Saraswati Puja, also known as Basant Panchami, marks the onset of spring and is observed in diverse ways across the Indian subcontinent.
The festival also signifies the beginning of preparations for Holika Dahan and Holi, which follow forty days later.
The event reflects Tripura’s rich cultural heritage, as devotees offer prayers, perform rituals, and seek blessings from Goddess Saraswati for wisdom and success in education.
