Agartala: Jan 30: A delegation from NCERT Delhi conducted raids on two bookstores in Agartala, near Orient Chowmuhani and Jaynagar, uncovering a large quantity of illegal books. Stern action has been taken against the stores.
A member of the delegation stated that complaints were received from the state at the Delhi-based NCRT office. On Thursday, a joint delegation from the Delhi and Guwahati Regional Centers of NCRT conducted raids on the two bookstores based on these complaints. A significant number of illegal textbooks were found during the operation.
The delegation member also mentioned that the two stores were selling NCERT books to students after printing them elsewhere in poor quality. The police have confiscated some of the books.
