Agartala: Jan 30: Today, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, was observed with due dignity. The day was marked as Martyrs’ Day in front of Agartala Congress Bhavan, where the national flag was hoisted and floral tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait. Congress leaders then visited Gandhi Ghat in Agartala to pay tribute at Bapu’s Samadhisthal (place of Samadhi).
Speaking at the event, Pradesh Congress President Ashis Kumar Saha noted that Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary is observed as Martyrs’ Day worldwide. He highlighted Gandhi’s message of peace and non-violence, which resonated throughout the country.
Saha also emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi’s lifestyle, honesty, and non-violence continue to inspire the nation. He added that Gandhiji’s fight for justice and ideology should persist in the days to come.
