Agartala: Jan 25: Ahead of India’s 76th Republic Day, security measures along the international border have been significantly tightened, with the Border Security Force (BSF) conducting strict patrolling to ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents. These heightened precautions are in place to maintain law and order during the national celebrations. Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabh Ranjan briefed journalists today about the extensive security arrangements.
Ranjan confirmed that Republic Day celebrations will take place across the state, with the main function scheduled for January 26 at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nannu will preside over the event, hoisting the national flag and overseeing the march-past. In addition to the main ceremony, rehearsals for parades will be conducted in various locations throughout the state, further enhancing security measures in those areas.
The DGP highlighted that strict vigilance will be maintained not only on Republic Day but also on the evening of January 25 and the night of January 26. Special traffic regulations have been implemented, and significant security forces, including BSF and Tripura State Rifles (TSR), have been deployed across the state. The administration is taking all necessary precautions to ensure a peaceful and secure Republic Day celebration.
