Agartala, January 17: As part of the BJP’s nationwide ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan’ initiative, the BJP Sadar Urban district of Tripura organized a rally in Agartala on Friday.
The rally, which began in front of the BJP Sadar office, passed through the city and concluded at Paradise Chowmuhani.
The event witnessed the participation of BJP Tripura state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, along with several other senior leaders.
Speaking to reporters, Bhattacharjee emphasized the objective of the campaign, stating, “The BJP has launched the ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan’ to promote awareness about the Constitution and the ideology of Dr. BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, at the grassroots level.”
He further highlighted that the campaign commemorates 75 years of the Indian Constitution’s journey. Under this initiative, discussions and speeches are being organized across Tripura to educate people about the Constitution’s significance.
Responding to allegations from opposition parties, Bhattacharjee accused the Congress and CPIM of disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar and the Constitution in the past.
“Congress and CPIM are spreading misinformation, but the people of this country know how these parties have disrespected Dr. Ambedkar and the Constitution. Through today’s rally, the BJP aims to create awareness about the supreme legal document and its framer, Dr. Ambedkar, while exposing the CPIM and Congress before the public,” he said.
The BJP’s ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan’ appears to be a direct effort to position the party as a custodian of the Constitution amid opposition criticisms.
