Agartala: Jan 07: January 26th holds special significance as both Republic Day and Constitution Day in India. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s drafting. The day is celebrated with great respect every year, and this year is no exception. Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy made this announcement at a press conference held at the state BJP office on Tuesday. He emphasized that Babasaheb Ambedkar played a pivotal role in drafting the Constitution, which laid the foundation for the nation’s progress.
From January 11th to 25th, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a 15-day training program at every booth, block, and district level across the state to educate people about the Constitution. A committee has been formed for this initiative, with the minister himself overseeing the efforts. He also announced that January 17th would be celebrated as ‘Gaurav Diwas’ (Day of Glory), honoring the contributions of Dr. Ambedkar. Additionally, January 25th would see celebrations of ‘Gaurav Diwas’ at the block level.
During the press conference, Minister Roy criticized opposition parties, accusing them of misinterpreting the Constitution and failing to show proper respect to Babasaheb Ambedkar. He emphasized that the BJP and the government aim to ensure that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar receives the respect he deserves on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s drafting. The event is a reminder of the Constitution’s importance in shaping India and recognizing Ambedkar’s monumental contributions to the nation’s development.
