Agartala: Jan 03: Based on a tip-off, a coordinated operation was carried out at Agartala Railway Station. The joint team of Agartala Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Agartala Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) conducted a thorough check on the Bengaluru Humsafar Express. During the inspection, a total of 33 packets, each containing dry Cannabis, weighing 35 kg in total, were discovered.
The ganja was carefully seized after all legal procedures and formalities were observed. This significant recovery highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug trafficking. The total market value of the seized dry Cannabis is estimated to be approximately Rs. 3,50,000.
Following the discovery, the Agartala GRPS immediately launched an investigation to identify the individuals or group responsible for the illegal narcotics. The authorities are working on tracing the origins and possible destination of the contraband to uncover the full scope of the operation.
