Agartala: Dec 26: Based on confidential information, two Bangladeshi nationals (one woman and one man) and an Indian broker (a man) were arrested this afternoon, on 26th December 2024, from Agartala Railway Station. They had illegally crossed over from Bangladesh into India and had arrived at the Agartala Railway Station with the intention of traveling to a foreign country via train. This operation was carried out by the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRPS), Agartala Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and the Intelligence Department.
During initial questioning, they stated that they were headed to Kolkata. The GRPS team is conducting thorough interrogations of the individuals at the Agartala GRPS Station. It is speculated that more individuals may be arrested in connection with this case, and further details may emerge from the ongoing investigation.
A case has been filed at the Agartala GRPS, and the arrested individuals are expected to be presented before the Honorable Court tomorrow.
The arrested individuals are:
1) **Mr. Pradeep Das (39)** – District: 24 Parganas, Kakdwip, West Bengal (Indian Broker)
2) **Mr. Rubel Das (26)** – District: Chattogram, Bangladesh (Bangladeshi National)
3) **Mrs. Apu Rani Das (22)** – District: Chattogram, Bangladesh (Bangladeshi National)
Along with Mrs. Apu Rani Das, her 3-year-old son, Arkita, was also detained. Further investigations are underway, and the police expect more developments in the case.
