Agartala: Dec 20: The Sadar District Congress has strongly condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly insulting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, during his speech in Parliament. The Congress workers organized a protest in front of the state Congress office to express their anger over the Home Minister’s remarks.
A Congress leader, addressing the media, claimed that during the winter session of Parliament on December 17, Amit Shah made derogatory comments about Dr. Ambedkar, accusing the BJP government of disrespecting the revered leader. He emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar, who fought for the rights of the marginalized and gave the country its Constitution, is being insulted by the BJP government today. The leader went on to label the BJP as “anti-constitutional” and “anti-Ambedkar,” stating that their actions are a direct attack on the very foundation of Indian democracy.
The Congress leader also pointed out the violence that occurred when the INDIA alliance protested against Amit Shah’s remarks outside Parliament. According to the leader, BJP MPs attacked Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, during the protest, which further escalated the situation. The Congress party sees this as an attempt to undermine democracy and suppress dissent.
In light of these events, the Sadar District Congress has demanded that Amit Shah be immediately dismissed from the Prime Minister’s cabinet for his alleged anti-constitutional actions. The Congress workers pledged to continue their protests until appropriate action is taken against the Union Home Minister. This protest reflects the party’s firm stance against what they see as an affront to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and the principles of the Indian Constitution.
