Agartala: Dec 10: Four Bangladeshi citizens, including a child, have been arrested by the GRP for illegally entering Tripura by evading the border guards. A specific case has been filed against them.
Bangladeshi infiltration into Tripura is happening on a daily basis. Despite the strict vigil of the Border Security Force, Bangladeshi infiltration cannot be stopped. Cases of Bangladeshi infiltration into the state by crossing the barbed wire fence through brokers have become a daily occurrence. Yesterday, the RPF and the Intelligence Department of the Agartala GRP Police Station jointly arrested four Bangladeshi citizens from Agartala Railway Station.
GRP Police Station OC Tapas Das said that they received information at the police station based on secret intelligence that Bangladeshis would be leaving for other states via Agartala Railway Station. Based on that information, the GRP conducted a raid at the railway station. At that time, two Bangladeshis were seen walking out of the railway station at a fast pace. When the GRP police became suspicious, they were interrogated. During police interrogation, they confessed to entering Tripura illegally. The arrested persons are Tahidul Polan (26), Rajifa Begum (19), both residents of Bangladesh, and two children named Mohammad Isha Polan (3) and Morim Polan (1).
