Agartala, December 8: The New Capital Complex police in Agartala successfully arrested a group of burglars and recovered stolen gold jewelry worth around Rs 3 lakh, which was handed back to its rightful owner, Ayesha Khatun, on Sunday. The swift police action has earned appreciation from the public, reinforcing their confidence in the law enforcement system.
Sushanta Deb, Officer-in-Charge of the New Capital Complex Police Station, informed that Ayesha Khatun, a resident of Khejurbagan, had lodged a complaint on September 25 regarding a theft in her residence. Gold ornaments, including two necklaces, a mangalsutra, and a ring, were stolen from her showcase.
Acting promptly, the police launched an intensive investigation, leading to the arrest of five suspects. The stolen gold items were successfully recovered from the possession of the accused and presented before the court. Following court directives, the jewelry was returned to Ayesha Khatun on Sunday.
Expressing her gratitude, Ayesha Khatun said, “I never thought I would get my stolen jewelry back, but the police proved their efficiency by catching the thieves and recovering the ornaments. This is a big relief for me, as I could never afford to buy such jewelry again.”
She further lauded the police for their support and professionalism, adding, “The incident has strengthened our confidence in the police force, as they have shown how committed they are to ensuring justice.”
The success of this case highlights the increasing efficiency of the state police in tackling crimes and restoring public trust through their dedicated efforts.
