Agartala: Nov 28: In a strategic move aimed at the upcoming Village Council elections, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, the former leader of the Tipra Motha party, has sought to bring the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) closer to his political fold, thereby applying pressure on the ruling BJP alliance. In an audio message released today, Debbarma expressed his desire to forge an alliance with the IPFT for the elections, emphasizing that since both parties share common demands, their struggle should be united.
Debbarma stated that if the demands of the Tiprasa community are to be fulfilled, it is essential for both parties to raise their voices together in Delhi. He argued that a united front would ensure that no faction can disrupt their efforts. Therefore, he called for a combined effort with the IPFT leadership in the battle for the Village Council elections.
According to Debbarma, the demands of the IPFT and Tipra Motha are similar when it comes to seeking the welfare and rights of the indigenous people. Thus, it makes sense to join forces in the elections to push for greater development and political representation for the Tiprasa community. Debbarma emphasized that the future of the Tiprasa people should take precedence over political differences, urging that the collective focus should be on bringing progress and prosperity to the community.
By seeking this alliance, Debbarma is signaling a significant shift in Tripura’s political landscape, hoping to challenge the BJP’s dominance and push for greater autonomy and rights for the indigenous population. The alliance with the IPFT could become a crucial factor in shaping the state’s political future.
