Agartala: Nov 15: Two Congress workers were left bloodied and injured after a violent attack by BJP goons following a solidarity march in Mandai. The incident occurred after the conclusion of the Pradesh Congress’s solidarity march in the Mandai Assembly constituency. According to Nilkamal Saha, the President of Pradesh Youth Congress, the attack was carried out by BJP’s motorcycle brigade as the Congress workers were returning from the march. The assailants reportedly assaulted the workers, eaving two of them seriously injured. One of the injured workers is in a critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
In his statement, Nilkamal Saha strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a direct assault on democracy. He accused BJP members of resorting to violence against Congress workers simply because they had organized a peaceful march. Saha also highlighted that a motorcycle was set on fire during the attack, adding to the chaos. The incident has sparked outrage among Congress members, and Saha has demanded immediate action against the perpetrators. He expressed deep concern over the rising political violence in the region, urging the authorities to ensure the safety of Congress workers and take strict measures against those responsible. The situation remains tense as the injured workers continue to receive medical care, and investigations into the attack are underway.
