Agartala: Oct 21: On September 30th, Patal Kanya Jamatia, the supremo of TPF, announced a new political party at a press conference. On behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), she announced the Tripura People’s Socialist Party. Following this, on October 1st, the BJP expelled Patal Kanya Jamatia, the state vice president, from the primary membership due to anti-party activities and violation of party discipline.
A dismissal statement signed by the general secretary of the state BJP, Amit Rakshit, was issued as per the instructions of state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee. In this context, the general secretary of TPSP, Tinkhu Debbarma, warned the state BJP at a press conference held in Agartala Press Club on Monday. He said that a day after forming a separate platform, a statement signed by the BJP general secretary Amit Rakshit surfaced on social media. This statement said that TPSP’s supremo Patal Kanya Jamatia had been expelled. But surprisingly, this statement has not yet reached Patal Kanya Jamatia. In this context, Amit Rakshit, the general secretary of the state BJP, is being told that if such a statement has indeed been issued, then within the next 3 days, the statement should be officially handed over to Patal Kanya. Otherwise, Amit Rakshit will have to apologize to Patal Kanya and resign. And if no response is given within the next three days, then the entire team from the tribal front will resign within the next 10 days, he warned. Others from the organization were also present at the press conference.
