Agartala: Oct 15: Tensions are running high in Tripura’s Pekuchhara Gram Panchayat area after unknown miscreants attacked a temple late Monday night, prompting retaliation attacks on two mosques earlier today. The situation has escalated, with additional police and TSR forces deployed to restore order.
According to the details of the incident, late Monday night, unknown miscreants attacked a temple in the Pekuchhara Gram Panchayat area under Panisagar subdivision. In retaliation, a mosque was attacked today, leading to a tense situation in the area. Additional police and TSR forces have been deployed to control the situation. MLA Binay Bhushan Das has stated that peace has been restored.
In response to the incidents, mobile internet services have been suspended in Unkote and North Tripura districts. North Tripura district SP, Bhanupad Chakraborty, has been transferred to the police headquarters, with the SP of Dhalai district taking additional charge of North Tripura.
MLA Binay Bhushan Das condemned both attacks, emphasizing that retaliatory violence is unacceptable. He called for a peaceful resolution through dialogue and mentioned that the police are investigating the incidents to bring the perpetrators to justice.
