Agartala, September 16: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alongside Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha, and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma today inaugurated the Siddheswari Temple in Barkathal, West Tripura district. During the ceremony, Yogi Adityanath made strong remarks, calling Pakistan a “cancer of humanity” and emphasized the need for global forces to address the issue.
“Pakistan is a cancer. Unless it is treated, we cannot solve problems,” he stated, referring to the ongoing situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the aspirations of its people to join India. He also highlighted how global unity is essential to counter this threat.
Drawing from Tripura’s historical context, Yogi Adityanath invoked the legacy of the Manikya monarchy, recalling how Tripura thwarted attempts to be merged with East Pakistan during the 1949 accession to India. He praised the Tripura kings for showcasing strength to protect the region from external threats.
Referring to recent political unrest in Bangladesh, which saw the departure of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following student-led protests, Adityanath warned that poor leadership and failure to distinguish between allies and enemies can lead to disastrous consequences, as seen in Bangladesh today. However, he assured that such a situation would not arise in India, crediting the strong, responsive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
In his speech, Yogi Adityanath also criticized Congress for supporting the partition of India, linking their actions to the eventual creation of Pakistan. He emphasized that resistance against such divisive policies could have prevented the partition and its resulting communal strife.
“We all are working today for a strong Bharat in the form of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat,” he said, invoking the image of Lord Krishna’s dual role as a protector and a symbol of peace. He added, “Flute alone will not work; the Sudarshan Chakra is also required for protection.”
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha also spoke during the event, criticizing past governments for promoting atheism in the state. He credited the BJP’s rise to power with reviving faith and spirituality in Tripura.
“The people have embraced a shift towards faith and spirituality after BJP came to power,” Dr. Saha remarked, expressing gratitude to Yogi Adityanath for attending the inauguration and acknowledging the dedication of local spiritual leaders. He emphasized that the state had experienced unrest and stagnation under previous governments, but the BJP, under Prime Minister Modi, was steering it towards development.
The UP CM also lauded the “double-engine government” of Tripura, emphasizing its role in speeding up the state’s overall development.
