Upon returning to the state from Delhi, Chief Minister Manik Saha immediately convened an emergency review meeting here late last evening to assess the ongoing flood situation .
The meeting was held to evaluate the current conditions, the effectiveness of relief measures, and the readiness of various departments to handle the crisis.
Present at the meeting were key officials, including the Chief Secretary JK Sinha, the Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, the Secretary of the Revenue Department Brijesh Pandey, and senior officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department (DWS), among others.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure the safety of the affected population and the efficient distribution of relief materials.
He instructed the concerned authorities to remain vigilant and responsive to the evolving situation, ensuring that essential services such as healthcare, drinking water, and transportation are maintained without disruption.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the current levels of rainfall and the rising water levels in key rivers, directing the officials to closely monitor vulnerable areas and initiate evacuation procedures where necessary.
Special attention was given to ensuring that communication lines remain open and functional for swift dissemination of information to the public.
As the flood situation continues to pose significant challenges, the state government is committed to taking all necessary measures to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of its citizens.
Meantime keeping in view the safety of the students in the current situation the government has decided to suspend functioning of all school and colleges today.
