Agartala: Auggust 18: On Sunday, a significant march took place on the streets of Agartala, organized by common citizens with three primary demands, including the protection of girls. The procession saw noticeable participation from children, women, and youths.
The march was held in response to the recent incident in West Bengal involving the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College. The Women and Yuva Shakti group led the protest, which highlighted three key demands. The participants gathered in front of the city center in the heart of Agartala to voice their concerns.
The three demands raised during the march included the protection of girls, the speedy acceptance of any case related to women, and the provision of self-defense training in schools for every child. Additionally, there was a call for women-related cases to be resolved within a specified timeframe. The marchers loudly chanted slogans advocating for the protection of women as they presented their demands.
