Agartala: June In a symbolic gesture of goodwill, State Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha sent 500 kg of Tripura’s renowned Queen Pineapple to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Assistant Director of Horticulture in Tripura, Deepak Baidya, confirmed the shipment.
India and Bangladesh share a strong bilateral relationship, and this exchange aims to strengthen those ties. The Queen National Pineapple, with its Geographical Indication (GI) tag, is celebrated worldwide for its exceptional taste and quality. By sending this delicious fruit as a greeting, the hope is that cordial relations between the two countries will continue to flourish.
The shipment consists of 100 boxes, each containing 6 pineapples. With a total weight of 500 kg, these pineapples are a flavorful representation of Tripura’s agricultural excellence. Each pineapple weighs approximately 750 grams.
