Agartala, June 22, 2024 — On Saturday, Jagannath’s Snan Yatra (bathing procession) was observed at the Jagannath Jio temple in the capital and at the ISKCON temple in Math Choumhani. Devotees gathered in large numbers to participate in the sacred bathing ritual.
Apart from the Jagannath Jio temple, the ISKCON temple in the capital also organized the bathing procession in the Purbasha field. Former MLA Dr. Dilip Das, Deputy Mayor of Agartala Pur Nigam, and other dignitaries were present during the event.
A priest from the ISKCON temple explained that Jagannath Snan Yatra signifies the bathing of Lord Jagannath. After a 15-day period of illness following the bathing journey, Lord Jagannath recovered, leading up to the upcoming Rath Yatra festival scheduled for July 7.
