Agartala, Tripura: Acting on secret information, the police at Agartala GRP station apprehended a young man in possession of 25 kg of dry cannabis. The arrested individual, identified as Subhash Jha, is 30 years old and hails from Rajasthan.
According to OC Tapas Das of Agartala GRP station, the incident unfolded during a routine search on Tuesday evening at Agartala railway station. Railway police noticed a young man pushing a trolley and carrying a bag through the parcel gate. Suspecting illicit activity, they detained the youth for questioning. Subhash Jha confessed that the bag contained cannabis, which he was transporting to Rajasthan.
On Wednesday, the police presented Subhash Jha in court, seeking a three-day police remand for further investigation.
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
