Agartala: April 24: In a recent development, the vice-president of the state BJP, Patal Kanya Jamatia, has taken a firm stance against supporting brokerage agents through voting. Her message is clear: wearing the mask of Narendra Modi does not sway her commitment to this principle.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Patal Kanya emphasized that those who seek to undermine the team’s integrity under the guise of doing good will find no entry. She also directed her attention to Kriti Singh Debbarma, the BJP candidate for the East Tripura constituency, asserting that she does not endorse such practices.
Patal Kanya did not mince words when discussing Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman, the supremo of Tipra Motha. According to her, Dev Barman’s transition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was driven by a hunger for office. She questioned his authority to personally attack her as the co-president. Despite his recent affiliation with the BJP, Patal Kanya believes that Dev Barman remains entangled in divisive politics.
The vice-president made it clear that Dev Barman’s actions have consequences. Until he apologizes to the people, he will not enjoy their support. Patal Kanya also criticized what she termed as “jumla politics,” which she believes tarnishes the legacy of Tripura’s kings.
In response, the chief spokesperson of the state BJP, Subrata Chakraborty, expressed disapproval of Patal Kanya’s comments. The matter is now under consideration by the party’s top leadership, and strict action will be taken to prevent similar remarks in the future.
