Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated in almost every state of India. This festival is celebrated on the Purnima Tithi of the month of Chaitra in most of the northern states of India. In Karnataka, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the thirteenth day of Shukla Paksha, i.e. in the month of Vaishakh. Hanuman is considered to be a devoted devotee of Lord Rama.
An incarnation of Lord Vishnu, he is widely known for his steadfast devotion. He is revered as a symbol of strength. Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated in the state on Tuesday. Several social organizations and clubs including the Bharat Ratna Sangh Club of Agartala city organized Hanuman Puja on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Hanuman Puja is also organized in Kathia Baba Mission College on this day. Governor Indra Sen Reddy Nallu and others were present among them. Governor congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Hanuman Puja ends with chanting of the mantra by the priest. Hanuman Puja is attended by a large number of devotees. In an interview, a member of the Bharat Ratna Sangh Club said that Hanuman Jayanti Puja has been organized on the initiative of the Bharat Ratna Sangh this year as well. He said that prasad will be distributed among the devotees after the puja.
