Agartala: April 21: During an organizational meeting, Kriti Singh Debavarman, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee and Tipra Matha-IPFT supported candidate, fell ill. This incident occurred as part of the election campaign for the 2nd East Janjati reserved seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The voting for this seat is scheduled for the 26th in the second phase of the elections. The campaign fervor is reaching its peak across the entire East Tripura constituency.
In support of Kriti Devi Debbarman, the BJP’s nominated candidate for the Janjati reserved 2 East Tripura Lok Sabha seat, a road show is planned in Teliamura on Monday. To ensure the success of this road show, an organizational meeting was held on Sunday at the Teliamura Baramura Cafeteria.
However, during the discussion about Monday’s road show, Kriti Singh Debbarman suddenly fell physically ill. He received immediate medical attention at the Teliamura government post bungalow. In his absence, the meeting proceeded under the leadership of MLA Kalyani Roy.
The road show is set to commence from the Teliamura Town Hall premises at 4 pm on Monday. It will traverse various roads in Teliyamura city before returning to the town hall premises. Notable figures, including State Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Dev, State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee, and others, are expected to participate in this event.
Besides MLA Kalyani Saha Roy, other attendees at the meeting included State OBC Morcha State Committee Secretary Prasenjit Roy, BJP Teliamura Mandal Vice President Nitin Kumar Saha, and Mandal Secretary Nandan Roy. Despite his physical ailment, Kriti Singh Debbarman, the BJP’s nominated candidate for the East Tripura constituency, engaged in discussions with party officials and journalists at the Teliamura government post bungalow.
