Agartala: Mar 27: Deepak Majumdar, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), officially submitted his nomination papers for the upcoming Ramnagar assembly by-election. Accompanied by party officials and Agartala Municipal Corporation corporators, Majumdar embarked on a procession that led to the Sadar Subdivisional Magistrate’s office.
Earlier in the day, Majumdar commenced the nomination process after seeking blessings at various temples. The rally, which passed by Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, culminated in the formal filing of his papers with Sadar Subdivisional Magistrate Ranjit Das.
Notably, the late Surjit Dutta’s wife participated in the procession, underscoring the historical context of this electoral event. Alongside her, party co-president Papiya Dutta and Minority Front leader Jasimuddin lent their support to Majumdar’s candidacy.
As the by-election approaches, all eyes are on the Ramnagar constituency, awaiting the outcome of this crucial political contest.
