Agartala, March 8, 2024: The Congress is gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and the anticipation is building as the party prepares to unveil its list of candidates. Among the hopefuls is Ashish Kumar Saha, who has been nominated as the Congress candidate for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.
The Lok Sabha, in a significant move, is set to release its first list of candidates from approximately ten states and Union Territories. This list will include prominent names, with Rahul Gandhi being a notable contender from Kerala’s Wayanad. The announcement will be made by the party’s Central Election Committee.
Asish Kumar Saha won the assembly elections in 2018 from Bordowali assembly seat on a BJP ticket and later resigned from the post as well as party to join the Congress.
He later contested the by-elections and 2023 assembly elections against Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha from the same Bordowali seat but lost.
