Agartala: Feb 07: Police recovered 21.5 kg of dry cannabis and arrested three drug dealers based on secret information. A police officer said that one of the arrested is a Bangladeshi citizen.
The police official said that on Tuesday night, they received information that drugs would be smuggled in a car through the Sonamura-Belonia road. Based on that information, the police laid a trap.
At that time, three young men came in a car and were arrested. A search of the vehicle yielded 21.5 kg of dried cannabis. Three youths have been detained along with the car.
The arrested are Mohammad Hanif Miah and Rashid Miah, residents of Sonamura, and Abdul Jalil, a resident of Bangladesh. He was living in Sonamura with a fake identity card. Specific cases have been filed against them.
