Agartala, February 3: In a significant development, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha flagged off the revamped Deodhar Express train at Agartala rail station on Saturday, unveiling a new look that includes the introduction of LHB Rake composition coaches.
These coaches boast enhanced safety features and improved comfortable seating arrangements, ensuring a more enjoyable journey for passengers.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism about the positive impact of the upgraded train service on travelers.
He attributed the improved connectivity in the region, including the introduction of high-speed express trains and world-class stations, to the fulfillment of promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Tripura, once landlocked, now enjoys enhanced connectivity, not only through railways but also through connectivity with Bangladesh, fostering increased trade opportunities for the state’s residents.
Acknowledging the efforts of Prime Minister Modi and the Railway Minister, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the transformative developments.
He emphasized that with the introduction of multimodal connectivity, particularly through Bangladesh, Tripura is poised to become the gateway to Southeast Asia.
Passengers, Ajit Kumar Ghose, lauded the benefits of the new train service and called for the implementation of double-lane train services to further alleviate congestion.
Another passenger, A. K. Pandey, expressed gratitude for the improved service, reflecting the positive reception of the upgraded Deodhar Express.
