Agartala, February 1:Former Chief Minister of Tripura and CPIM politburo member, Manik Sarkar, delivered a passionate address at Agartala Town Hall during the celebration of Russian communist leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin’s death centenary year celebrations here on Thursday.
Sarkar urged members of his party to unitedly fight inorder to socially isolate the RSS led BJP for politically defeating.
Addressing the recent shift in the INDIA coalition due to Nitish Kumar’s return to the BJP, Sarkar expressed confidence in the resilience of the united opposition.
Sarkar said that Nitish Kumar returning to his old camp doesn’t mean INDIA is dwindled or grumbled and that it is not going to affect the prospect of the INDIA.
He reassured supporters that INDIA remains strong, highlighting that Kumar’s party, RJD, is just one of the 28 parties in the coalition.
Later speaking to reporters, Sarkar dismissed concerns about INDIA’s stability, stating that the electorate will hold leaders accountable in the upcoming elections.
He acknowledged the dynamic nature of political alliances, stating that while leaders may come and go, the collective power of the people will prevail.
Turning his attention to BJP’s tactics, Sarkar criticized the party for exploiting religious sentiments, misusing central agencies like ED and questioned the credibility of their promises.
Sarkar said that BJP is using god Ram besides ED and other agencies against the opposition which are not signs of BJP’s ‘strength’ rather ‘uncertainty’ regarding winning the coming general parliament elections.
He said BJP before election make big promises but has not kept any of the promises it made during its last ten years rule and which is the experience of the people.
He anticipated a repetition of unfulfilled commitments in the upcoming interim budget, cautioning that the people of India won’t be swayed by false assurances during the parliamentary elections.
As the political landscape evolves, Sarkar emphasized the readiness of the electorate for change, asserting that the upcoming elections will be a testament to the people’s desire for accountable and transparent governance.
