Agartala, January 29: Dr. Koushik Debnath who was beaten by the police, gave a deputation to the Superintendent of Police of West District demanding legal action against Amtali Divisional Police Officer Prasunkanti Tripura.
According to the information, there were allegations of gang-beating of son and daughter of Prasun Kanti Tripura in Abhaynagar last Thursday. Both the injured were taken to GB Hospital. Amtali SDPO Prasun Kanti rushed to Tripura GBP Hospital after receiving the information of the incident on Thursday night. A doctor named Kaushik Debnath was arrested in that incident. He is an Ayurvedic doctor by profession.
Later, a written case was filed against Prasun Kanti Tripura on behalf of Kaushik Debnath’s family. Kaushik’s father alleged that Kaushik was severely beaten that night for no reason. He claimed that the daughter and son of Prasun Kanti Tripura were intoxicated that day and night. Kaushik is not involved in that incident in any way. But then he was severely beaten.
Today, local residents including Kaushik’s father gave a deputation to the Superintendent of Police of West District demanding legal action against Amtali Divisional Police Officer Prasunkanti Tripura.
