Agartala 25th January: A function was organized to mark 150 years of State Police. Chief Minister’s doctor Manik Saha was present as the chief guest at the function organized at Pragya Bhavan in the capital. The Chief Minister auspiciously started the program by releasing balloons and interacted with the State Police officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that special measures have been taken by the state police to prevent vehicle accidents. Because among the accidents that are taking place, it is seen that young people are involved in more accidents. Such incidents are happening because there is no fear of accidents among them. It is especially noticed that they get into this accident by riding bikes and scooties without wearing helmets. So this time it has been decided to instruct the authorities not to give petrol to those who do not wear helmets, and also to instruct the authorities not to issue pollution certificates to those who make loud noise of bikes. Because some overzealous youths are doing such things.
Also, regarding drug addiction, the Chief Minister said that strict vigilance is going on at the border of Myanmar and Mizoram, including Churaibari, the entry point of the state. Because the administration has been strict to ensure that drugs cannot enter the country through the entry points and borders. On the other hand, human trafficking and the entry of Rohingyas are also being given importance. The government has succeeded in promoting good relations between nations. He claimed that law and order is very good in the state. And Tripura ranks third in terms of law and order in the entire country. Police have been directed to take action against anyone who tries to violate law and order. Apart from the chief minister, the grand director of the state police, Amitabh Ranjan, and other officials were also present at the event. The chief minister flagged off the vehicle and launched it. The cars will go around different areas and present the various activities of the police to the public.
