Agartala: Jan 12: In a significant joint operation by Military intelligence, Security forces & Longding Police in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh six hardcore cadres of NSCN (IM) were arrested along with huge cache of arms and ammunition. According to a press release issued by SP, Longding the entire operation which was carried out based upon specific inputs from multiple sources and agencies during which the cadres were arrested in the area between Longding town and Niausa. After spot interrogation, the arrested cadres revealed that they also had sophisticated arms in a hideout between Kamhua Noknu and Khasa village of the district. Accordingly, the security forces launched further operations in the said area and recovered of 3 MQ assault rifles, detonators, mobile phones and war like stores. A case vide Longding Police Station case no.01/2024 US 120b/121/122/384/506IPC RW Sect 10/13 UAP Act and sect 25(1A)/27 arms act has been registered and further investigation is going on. The investigation has also revealed that the militants were serving extortion notes to several HOD and public leaders and have several evil plans.
